9.5.12 Labor day weekend adventures

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Ours really didn't end until today, since Jason had yesterday off too, which was nice.
Jason cooked for me a lot, helped out with the cleaning and the babies, and as usual i got spoiled having him home.

Sunday we decided to go to the Powers Festival, and met up with The Kellers. Liam loves his cousins, aunt and uncle(as do we!) so its always great to be able to get together.
The festival was fun, we got there around 11 and it wasn't too crowded although it was SO HOT. Holy moly was it ever. I don't think i have sweat that much since visiting Florida. Although in all likelyhood i wasn't this bad, I had a moment where i felt like Ben Stillers character in Along Came Polly, when they are in the ethnic restaurant eating spicy food and he's inappropriately pouring sweat from everywhere. Funny but, yuck.
We found some shade and camped out there for a bit, nibbling on some festival foods. Then we walked around and took in the sights, some beautiful crafting and pieces of art,  and listened to some good music. Can i say though, 140 bucks for a kids blanket? I mean really? I get that its hand made and original and all that but dang, come on. I wonder how many sales they actually make?
While we were there, Liam got a little overwhelmed with all the noises and people everywhere and it made for a few crabby moments with him. Sensory overload i think. All he wanted to do was take off running everywhere. Luckily they had a kids play area that had two bounce houses and a small Ferris wheel type thing. Liam LOVED the bounce houses, so we ended up spending a bunch of time there letting him do his thing and just be happy, jumping. Sam and Daisy had a nice time, and were good for the most part, just looking around at everything and everyone. Daisy got to try a corn dog and Sam tried some of my shaved ice.

This is the best shot i could get of Liam in the bounce house at the festival. Kid was having a blast!
Daisy, rocking that hat like no ones business, looking beautiful, and enjoying the music.

Another plus of having Daddy home, Liam and got to spend some alone time together. We went for a walk downtown, played a little at 1st Avenue Park  and stopped by to check out this beautiful fountain at the Veterans Memorial Plaza, also in Historical Downtown.  Liam wanted to GET IN the fountain, this kid LOVES water always has. :)
You know, although i miss living in Metro Atlanta,  Newnan is a great little town. Lots of parks and kids activities and lots of stuff for adults too. Just a nice place for families to live, in general.

Sam is starting to really try to walk, and its so cute to watch. He is still on the smaller side, so seeing him do these big things is funny and adorable. We have a little baby push-walker and I had left it out in the playroom. On his own, he started using it the other day. I will post some video below.  Daisy is also getting more adventurous and has started stepping along, scooting really, holding on to tables and such.
They are both interacting all the time together, also such a funny, cute and interesting thing to watch...baby dynamics if you will. :)

9.1.12 Long weekend

Looking forward to a long weekend with J home :) We'll be heading over to the Powers Festival of Coweta County on Monday. We plan on meeting up with The Kellers, and it should be fun! I foresee a funnel cake, some boiled peanuts and a blooming onion in my near future. Love festival food, yum!

This morning i whipped up some gfcfsf pancakes for Liam and the babes. I used  Bobs Red Mill all purpose flour mix and followed this recipe: Bobs Red Mill gfcfsf pancakes, but i found it a bit too bland, so i jazzed it up by adding a whole mashed banana, some defrosted blueberries, a little powdered sugar, a little cinnamon, and a little vanilla. They turned out delicious! On Liams, i spread some coconut butter on and used organic maple syrup, so good. On the babes just some regular butter and corn syrup FREE syrup. They gobbled it up!

I think we may start our weekend off tonight with a little firepit action, some frosty brew action, and maybe some hamburger and hot dog action. yeah buddy. :)

Long weekends make me want to have people over for a get together. Hmm. Maybe tonight? or tomorrow? Wonder what everyone is up to....

Did anyone see the blue moon last night? It was beautiful! Big and very bright.

The twins turned 9 months old a few days ago.
Can you believe Liam will be 3 in a week?

Some pictures from the past week:

 Bathtime for the brothers
(Liam loves taking baths with his little brother, Daisy not so much, but only because she tends get really LOUD while taking a bath. Something about the water makes Daisy get very vocal. i think its the equiv of singing in the shower? lol)
